سنا ہے لوگ اسے آنکھ بھر کے دیکھتے ہیں
(Suna hai log use aankh bhar ke dekhte hain)
سو اس کے شہر میں کچھ دن ٹھہر کے دیکھتے ہیں
(So uske sheher mein kuch din thehr ke dekhte hain)

سنا ہے رات اسے چاند تکتا رہتا ہے
(Suna hai raat use chaand takta rehta hai)
ستارے بامِ فلک سے اتر کے دیکھتے ہیں
(Sitare baam-e-falak se utar ke dekhte hain)

سنا ہے دن کو اسے تتلیاں ستاتی ہیں
(Suna hai din ko use titliyaan satati hain)
سنا ہے رات کو جگنو ٹھہر کے دیکھتے ہیں
(Suna hai raat ko jugnu thehr ke dekhte hain)

Translation:
I’ve heard people gaze at her until their eyes are full,
So I think I’ll stay in her city for a few days and see for myself.

I’ve heard the moon keeps watching her through the night,
And even the stars descend from the heavens just to catch a glimpse.

They say that butterflies tease her during the day,
And that at night, fireflies pause — just to look at her.
